The Lanson champagne house was founded in 1760 by the Lanson family. So today the brand is more than 260 years old! It is located in the center of Reims.The red cross as a logo on the labels refers to the Order of Malta, the oldest charitable organization in the world, of which the founder’s son was a member. Starting in 1798, the Maltese cross was transformed into the now famous Lanson cross that now serves as their emblem.
The cross’s symbolic meaning of “openness, kindness and hospitality” is still close to champagne Lanson’s heart.
The house owns 57 acres of which 16 acres are in organic and biodynamic viticulture. Thanks to the large area of vineyards, they have over 100 different crus of which 50% are in Grand & Premier crus.
Lanson has been a purveyor to the British Kingdom for 120 years and has also been served at the Wimbledon tennis tournament for more than 40 years.
